Merchground is a German merchandise producer and distributor that works mainly with bands, musicians and other artists. It decorates merch in small and large runs, and it also runs complete online merch shops for its clients, printing each item on demand when a fan orders and handling shipping, returns and payments. The homepage sums up the two sides of the business as "Merchandise Produktion & Vertrieb" (merchandise production and distribution). The site is in German, and the operator named in the contact form's privacy notice is Foxground GbR.

The client list on the homepage leans toward music: it names acts such as The Esprits, Mr. Irish Bastard, Terry Hoax, Salut Salon, Bad Temper Joe and Fee Badenius, alongside Universal and the venue Backstage München. For a band or artist in the German-speaking market who wants someone to run the whole merch operation, that is the core audience.

Production

The production side is described in one line: "Wir veredeln Merchandise jeglicher Art." (We decorate merchandise of every kind.) The company lists what it stands for as individual and personal advice, high-quality products, "Kleine & große Auflagen" (small and large runs), sustainable production and punctual delivery.

On-demand manufacturing is its distinctive offer. The homepage says that, "als eine der wenigen Firmen in Deutschland" (as one of the few companies in Germany), Merchground also produces on demand, and explains the idea plainly: "Das Textil entsteht erst, wenn es in eurem Shop bestellt ist. Just in time und nachhaltig." (The garment is only made once it has been ordered in your shop. Just in time and sustainable.) The site ties this to waste: producing only what is needed means nothing gets thrown away. It also states "Nachhaltigkeit ist uns wichtig! Deshalb haben wir unser Textilportfolio und unsere Produktion darauf angepasst." (Sustainability matters to us, so we have adapted our textile range and production accordingly.) The pages name no specific certifications.

Full-service distribution

The second side of the business, "Full Service Merchandise Vertrieb," covers everything around the product. The homepage lists the steps Merchground handles: choosing the textiles and the right size split, designing the motif, production and storage, through to looking after the shop.

For the shop itself, the headline is "Bewährtes System, individueller Shop" (proven system, individual shop), with the promise "Dein Shop wird individuell auf Dich angepasst und rundum betreut" (your shop is tailored to you and fully looked after). The services listed are:

  • technical support for the shop, marked "24h Service"
  • shipping and handling of the goods
  • customer service, including returns handling and questions from buyers

Money is handled for the client too. Under "Einfache Abwicklung" (simple processing), the homepage says all revenue is shown and settled transparently, with payment receipt checks, a transparent list of all income and "professionelle Abrechnung in schriftlicher Form" (professional written statements).

How print on demand works at Merchground

The FAQ answers the main seller questions directly:

  • How it works. "Beim Print-On-Demand wird Euer Merchandise erst dann produziert, wenn eine Bestellung eingeht." (With print on demand, your merch is only produced once an order comes in.) Merchground takes care of printing, packing and shipping.
  • Cost. "Es gibt keine festen Pauschalpreise, da die Kosten bei Print on Demand von Produkten, Druckart und Verkaufspreis abhängen." (There are no fixed flat prices, because costs depend on the products, print method and selling price.) The company adds that it calculates fairly and transparently, and the artist receives "den vereinbarten Anteil pro verkauftem Artikel" (the agreed share per item sold).
  • Monthly fees. "Nein, bei uns fallen keine monatlichen Fixkosten an." (No, there are no monthly fixed costs.)
  • Existing stock. Artists can also sell merch they already have: "Ihr schickt uns die Ware, wir übernehmen den Versand und die Abwicklung." (You send us the goods, we take over shipping and processing.)
  • Launch speed. A new shop can often open "innerhalb weniger Tage" (within a few days), depending mainly on how fast the artist supplies product information, designs and photos.
  • Shipping. "Wir versenden Europaweit." (We ship across Europe.) Shipping costs and delivery times vary by destination and are shown in the shop.
  • Scope. Merchground handles "den kompletten Ablauf" (the complete process) from shop setup through production to shipping, including storage, returns management and payment processing.

The FAQ on its print-on-demand article adds that the artist pays only when something sells, that "es gibt keine Mindestabnahmen und keine Lagerkosten" (there are no minimum orders and no storage costs), and that margin depends on the products and finishes chosen.

The company's view of a good partner

Merchground's article on choosing a print-on-demand partner explains what it thinks matters, and it doubles as a statement of its own approach. It warns that a shirt that looks worn out after three washes damages an artist's reputation, that delivery times dragging on for weeks kill hype, and that unanswered customer service lands on the artist rather than the fulfillment company. It argues that a full-service partner should develop products with the artist, set up the shop, handle fulfillment and returns, and scale production up when a release or tour sells better than expected. The article also names typical merch lines for artists: shirts, hoodies, posters and vinyl.

The company's blog covers merch for small bands (where it lists t-shirts, stickers and patches as realistic starting products), YouTubers and content creators, podcasters, authors and Christmas sales, which shows the range of clients it writes for beyond bands.

Contact

Every project starts with a conversation: "Bei uns startet alles mit persönlicher Beratung. Gerne machen wir Euch ein individuelles Angebot." (Everything starts with personal advice; we are happy to make you an individual offer.) The site offers a contact form where you choose between merch production and full-service distribution, the phone number +49 (0)531 1283 0337 and the address info@merchground.de.

Who it suits

Merchground suits bands, musicians, labels and other artists who want a partner to run their merch end to end: advice on products and sizes, design, on-demand production, a tailored shop, shipping across Europe, returns and written revenue statements. The option to sell existing stock alongside print-on-demand items helps acts that already have a merch table's worth of product.

It fits less well a seller who wants to compare published base prices or connect a self-service print catalog to their own store, since pricing is agreed per project and the shop is run by Merchground. The site is in German, so most conversations will happen in German.
