Textilwahn is a textile printing and merchandise company in Leverkusen that has worked as a textile specialist since 2007 and runs its own print-on-demand shop system alongside bulk production. In its own print shop and embroidery department it says it decorates up to 5,000 textiles a day, and it also has its own production facility in Turkey and a sourcing office for partners in Asia. The print-on-demand offer gives creators, clubs and brands an online shop whose orders are printed or embroidered on Stanley/Stella garments and shipped by Textilwahn. The site is in German, and all prices on the print-on-demand page are net, plus VAT.

What a seller gets

The print-on-demand page sells a complete shop rather than an API. Both tiers, Free and Pro, include the shop builder, a responsive theme, full customization, an online product designer, full production integration, vouchers, many preset payment methods, monthly commission accounting, DTG print on demand, embroidery on demand, team names, an SSL certificate and email support. The Free shop runs on a subdomain in the form dein-shop.textilwahn.com, while Pro uses the seller's own domain, in the form dein-shop.de.

Pro adds four things: labeling and finishing, extras such as flyers and stickers placed in orders, custom shipment tracking via Sendcloud, and telephone support with a personal contact. Pro costs €29.95 a month, gives a 20% production discount, and carries a one-time setup fee of €199 covering storage slots for labels and hangtags, an individual shipping email and the domain. Free has no monthly cost. As an option, Textilwahn will build the shop for €299, a starter package with a home page, an about page, the legal pages, 2 further subpages and 10 products. A sample shop shows what a finished store looks like, and the Free shop can be opened directly from the page, while Pro starts with a contact request.

The page makes clear that the shop system is the basis for the whole offer: product prices apply to orders coming through a Textilwahn shop. In the shop backend a seller has access to the full Stanley/Stella range in all colors and sizes.

Garments and prices

Textilwahn works only with Stanley/Stella stock; the page says its focus is "ganz klar auf Nachhaltigkeit und hoher Qualität" (clearly on sustainability and high quality). The price table lists each garment with its weight, fit and material, including the one-sided and two-sided print price:

  • Premium Shirt, Stanley/Stella Creator, 180 gsm, unisex medium fit: €13.80 with a one-sided print, €20.30 two-sided.
  • Basic Shirt, Stanley/Stella Rocker, 150 gsm: €11.32 or €17.82.
  • Premium Ladys Shirt, Stanley/Stella Expresser, 155 gsm fitted: €13.70 or €20.20.
  • Basic Ladys Shirt, Stanley/Stella Jazzer, 150 gsm: €11.30 or €17.80.
  • Premium Sweatshirt, Stanley/Stella Changer, 350 gsm fitted: €34.80 or €41.30.
  • Premium Hoodie, Stanley/Stella Cruiser, 350 gsm: €41.30 or €47.80.
  • Basic Hoodie, Stanley/Stella Drummer, 280 gsm: €27.96 or €34.46.
  • Premium Zip-Hoodie, Stanley/Stella Cultivator, 350 gsm: €42.60 or €49.10.

The table marks the shirts as 100% organic cotton and the sweatshirt and hoodies as 85% organic cotton with 15% recycled polyester, and lists every garment as Fair Wear and vegan. A note under the table says the prices apply to colored textiles in standard sizes, that white and heathered garments and oversizes can differ, and that all details are without guarantee. The page adds that Pro shops get discounts on these prices.

Print methods

Two methods run on demand in the shop system: DTG printing and embroidery. Embroidery up to 4,000 stitches costs €2.00 more per position than printing, each further 1,000 stitches costs €0.65, and creating the embroidery file is a one-time €30.00.

Retail-ready finishing

Finishing takes the offer toward retail-ready product, though it is available only on Pro. Woven labels cost €200.00 per 1,000 pieces to make and €2.00 each to sew in. Hangtags on 250 g paper at 52 x 148 mm cost €60.00 per 1,000 pieces, and attaching them is free for Pro shops. Packaging extras such as enclosed flyers and applied stickers are also on the list. The homepage describes the same idea as making products ready for sale with woven labels, hangtags, individual packaging or barcode stickers.

Stock, delivery and shipping

Delivery speed depends on the garment. The page says: "Ausgewählte Artikel sind ständig bei uns auf Lager und können innerhalb von 2 Werktagen verschickt werden." (Selected items are always in stock and can be shipped within 2 working days.) Other colors and styles are ordered as needed, and for those the page says the delivery time can rise to about 7-10 working days. A separate overview lists the stocked items.

Orders go out in neutral grass-paper mailing bags, with larger shipments in neutral cartons, and the company says it aims to ship entirely plastic-free. It works with several parcel carriers, so parcel lockers are no problem. Shipping within Germany costs €4.16 net.

The company behind the shop

The homepage presents Textilwahn as a full-service partner from the first idea to the finished collection: it develops concepts, designs motifs on request or takes over a brand's entire design, and delivers merchandise, club gear, fashion and promotional items. Its customers range, it says, from a Bundesliga club and rising fashion brands to global corporations, as well as agencies, music labels, NGOs and influencers, for small runs or large volumes. The footer puts the range at 50 to 50,000 items. Industry pages cover agencies and merchandisers, brands and corporates, and employer branding, and the product range spans T-shirts, polos, sweats and hoodies, shirts and blouses, jackets and vests, pants, kids' wear, caps and beanies, and accessories.

Customers can visit the office at Am Handwerkerhof 3 in Leverkusen by appointment, or call +49 (0) 2171 363400, Monday to Friday from 09:30 to 15:00. Customer reviews on the homepage mention fast delivery, good advice and the quality of polo shirts, sweatshirts and embroidery.

Who it suits

Textilwahn suits German creators, clubs, bands and small brands who want their own online shop with sustainable Stanley/Stella apparel, published net prices and a printer with its own facility behind it. The Free tier lets a seller start without a monthly fee, while Pro makes sense once a brand wants its own domain, labels and hangtags, branded shipping tracking and a personal contact. The published print-on-demand price list covers apparel, and selling runs through Textilwahn's shop system rather than an existing store.
