British Made Gifts
Tap a star to rate
British Made Gifts is a textile gift manufacturer in Yorkshire, England, and its dropship site offers sellers a print-on-demand wholesale service on soft home goods: cushions, tea towels, beach towels, fleece throws, bar runners, banners and aprons. A seller adds their designs to the company's product templates, lists the products in their own store, and orders from British Made Gifts when a sale comes in; the company prints, packs and ships the item straight to the customer. The site's banner reads "Shipped from our factory in Yorkshire, UK," and its pitch is aimed at people who want to "transform your hobby or passion project into a source of income."
What a seller gets
The service is free to join. The homepage says there are "No monthly or upfront fees, you only pay for fulfilment & shipping once you place an order," and the FAQ repeats that there are no hidden costs: "What you see is what you pay (other than shipping)." There is no minimum order. The company invites sellers to "experiment with your store and products with no order minimums, expensive equipment, or unsold inventory," and one customer quoted on the homepage says she likes being able to "order just one item as a test product."
The catalog is a focused set of printed textiles rather than a broad merchandise range. The homepage lists the blank products ready to dropship with their sizes:
- Cushion, 45cm x 45cm
- Heart Cushion, 40cm x 40cm
- Bar Runner, 58cm x 22cm
- Tea Towel, 50cm x 74cm
- Beach Towel, 150cm x 75cm
- Fleece Throw, 150cm x 150cm
- Banner, 5ft x 3ft
- Apron, adult size
A "See all" link leads to more, and the beach towel page also shows a Golf Towel at 63cm x 30cm. The store displays prices in GBP, USD, CAD or EUR.
Everything is made in-house. The homepage says all products are "proudly designed, hand manufactured and shipped lovingly from Britain - Yorkshire to be exact," and that the company keeps "a large warehouse full of fabric stock," so the products "will always be readily available." That is a real difference from a network model: one factory prints and ships every order.
How an order flows
The site sets out four steps. Download the product artwork templates and add the design. Create mockups for the store and wait for the first order. Upload the artwork to the British Made Gifts site to place the order. The company then prints, packs and ships it to the customer. The FAQ says a seller can download templates and place a first order as soon as the account is open.
There is no integration or API on the pages; each order is placed by uploading artwork on the company's own site. The templates come in two versions. The PDF template is meant for Photoshop or other photo editors, and the Illustrator template in EPS format is for vector software; both include named layers and guides. Upload limits are specific: the file must be under 40MB, the system works with a pixel size of up to 10,000 x 10,000, and the file must be JPEG, TIFF, PNG or PDF. Lowering the DPI helps with both size limits, the product FAQ says.
Orders cannot be changed. The product FAQ explains that once an order is placed "it flows through our automated order management system and gets printed the next print run automatically," so the seller must check it carefully. Before ordering, a seller ticks an approval box confirming that spelling, layout and content are correct, that no emojis are used, and that uploaded photos are clear, and accepting that the order will print exactly as it appears.
Pricing on the pages
The beach towel page gives the clearest picture of the unit economics. The towel is listed at £10.99, with a guideline RRP of £18.99, so the seller sees both the cost of the item and the retail price the company suggests. The same page lists other products with their prices: the Fleece Throw at £12.99, the 45cm Cushion at £9.99 and the Golf Towel at £9.49. Shipping is charged on top.
The beach towel itself is 300gsm microfiber, 150cm x 75cm (60 x 30 inches), washable at 30 degrees and drip dry. The company pitches it as "a great little product for your Summer collection" and says it works just as well as a bath towel all year round.
Production and shipping times
Every product is printed to order. The beach towel page asks buyers to allow 5-7 days for manufacture plus shipping time. The two pages describe shipping slightly differently, and a seller should plan around the longer figures.
The homepage FAQ says UK orders go by Royal Mail Tracked 24, with up to 2 more days allowed after the 5-7 day manufacture time, and overseas orders go by Royal Mail Standard International, with up to 10 days allowed after manufacture.
The beach towel page says UK orders go by Royal Mail Tracked 48, which it gives as 48 hours, and overseas orders by Royal Mail International Tracked, with 3-5 working days to the EU and 5-7 working days to the rest of the world. It notes these are Royal Mail's guidelines.
Color and quality
For color matching, each product page links to a color chart for that fabric. The FAQ says the company will send a chart with "over 400 colours" so a seller knows exactly how colors will print on that product. To test a specific design, the advice is to order the product and adjust the artwork as needed, which the no-minimum policy makes easy.
Customers and support
The homepage says the company works "with some of the biggest online retailers to provide quirky, viral, best-selling products," and also with independent artists and designers. It quotes two small shops, @ohsodaisy.shop and @thetinyartco, on print quality and fast delivery, and features Chester Zoo, which it says buys its giftware wholesale to stock gift shops, cafes and other visitor areas. Support comes from what the site calls "Friendly, helpful staff," and a help guide covers templates and uploads.
Who it suits
British Made Gifts fits sellers building a home, gift or seasonal range around printed textiles: personalized cushions, tea towels, beach towels, fleece throws and aprons. It suits sellers who want to say their products are made in Britain, since the pages are clear that everything is printed and shipped from one Yorkshire factory. Published item prices and guideline retail prices let a seller work out margins before ordering, and the lack of fees or minimums means a new shop can start with one test item.
It suits less a seller who needs automatic order routing from Shopify or another store, because the pages show only manual ordering through the company's own site, or anyone who wants apparel, drinkware or paper wall art. Sellers shipping mostly outside the UK should also allow for the longer overseas windows.
