Hoei Denmark A/S is a family-owned frame maker and print house in Hinnerup, Denmark, that prints posters, art prints and canvases on demand for online shops, artists and companies. It can ship each order straight to the seller's customer without any Hoei branding. The print-on-demand page is aimed at people who want to sell posters and canvas prints without tying up money in stock: Hoei prints to order, so a seller can test new motifs and adjust a range without risk. The company says it has more than 100 years of experience in print and framing, and it is run today by Christian Høi, who has been part of the business for more than 20 years.
What the company does
Hoei is first a framing company. Its shop sells its own frame series (HOEI 111 black, HOEI 114 oak look, HOEI 115 white, solid oak and dark oak, HOEI 140 bamboo, HOEI 180 and 190 black, and aluminum Cadre profiles), poster rails, mirrors, framed posters and a gallery of art prints from named artists such as Jesper Nørgaard Studio and Ib Beier. The homepage explains why it prints as well: the frame is only half the product, so the company runs its own large-format print department. It says it has printers for both eco-solvent and water-based inks, which lets it print on a wider range of media; canvas and paper are the most popular.
Print and framing happen in one place. The print-on-demand page says Hoei produces prints on paper and canvas in Denmark, frames them in its own frames, and handles the whole process "fra print til færdigt produkt" (from print to finished product) in the same print department. A seller deals directly with the people who produce the orders.
Print on demand and dropshipping
Hoei offers two ways to work. In plain print on demand, it prints to order for artists and companies who handle their own sales and shipping. In dropshipping, it produces, packs and sends each order straight to the seller's customer, so the seller skips logistics and daily order handling.
The dropship flow has four steps on the page. A customer orders in the seller's web shop, and the order is passed to Hoei, manually or automatically. Hoei prints the motif on demand. Each order is quality-checked and packed securely. It then ships to the seller or directly to the customer, with the seller as sender, and with Track & Trace and customer emails.
Branding is handled for the seller. The page answers "Sender I i mit navn?" (do you ship in my name?) with yes: orders go out in the seller's name "uden synlig Hoei Denmark-branding" (without visible Hoei Denmark branding). Hoei can also adapt the packing to special requests, such as thank-you cards or tape printed with a company name.
Orders can reach Hoei by integration, by file transfer or by email, and the company says it fits the solution to the seller's setup and order volume. A technical integration is not required. Getting started means calling or emailing for a no-obligation talk about the seller's needs, and a seller can begin with a test production or with single orders, without a fixed agreement.
Minimums, speed and samples
There is no minimum order. Asked whether a seller can start small, the page says yes: "Vi har ingen krav til minimumsordrer" (we have no minimum order requirements). The company adds that its processes keep quality consistent whether a seller orders one print or a hundred.
Dropship orders "afsendes typisk inden for 1-3 hverdage med GLS" (are typically dispatched within 1-3 working days by GLS).
Hoei offers a test production before any fixed arrangement. It produces, packs and ships the sample exactly as it would for one of the seller's customers, and the seller receives the same emails and Track & Trace as a customer would. That lets the seller judge print quality, materials, packaging and the whole shipping flow in practice.
Paper and canvas
Sellers can offer both posters and canvas prints, which the page says cover different needs and price points.
Paper prints suit posters, art prints and photographs. The page lists high color accuracy, a choice of paper qualities, and FSC-certified paper. There are four papers, all printed on demand:
- HD Photo Satin, a photo paper with a satin finish and a smooth white surface, for very clear color and sharp detail; the page recommends it for photographs and posters.
- HD Mat Coated, a coated matte FineArt paper for demanding color work, with a calm surface free of glare, suited to art and design prints.
- Hahnemühle Studio Enhanced, a smooth FineArt paper made of 100% alpha-cellulose that is strong and stable with a light texture.
- FineArt Cotton Rag, a cotton paper with a smooth, velvety surface and matte coating, made for inkjet printing with deep color and strong monochrome results; the page describes it as acid-free and without optical brighteners.
Canvas prints use Italian cotton canvas with a white coating and a fine weave, stretched on Danish-made stretcher frames, and they can be framed in Italian floating frames. The homepage says Hoei prints canvas only on its own specially made canvas, and that the maximum size of a finished canvas print is 150x400 cm. The paper department can also finish prints by mounting, laminating, framing in standard frames, and stretching and framing canvas.
Quality and durability
Hoei prints on professional large-format inkjet printers, which the page says give a large color space, high detail, precise color and consistent results even when each print is made one at a time. Every print is checked before it leaves production, canvases are stretched on solid stretcher frames, and posters are prepared for framing or shipping. The company says its materials, inks and finishing are chosen so colors stay stable and prints can hang for many years. A seller can contact the print department for a test print of a specific motif.
Pricing and support
The page does not publish prices. It says "Prisen afhænger af materialer, formater og mængder. Kontakt os for et konkret oplæg" (the price depends on materials, formats and quantities; contact us for a specific proposal). Errors and complaints are handled in dialogue with the seller, so problems are solved quickly. The sales team is reachable by phone and at a sales email address, and the site offers a B2B login application and a downloadable 8-page frame catalog. The site is in Danish.
Who it suits
Hoei Denmark fits web shops, artists and photographers who sell posters and canvas prints, want them printed by a maker that frames as well, and want the parcel to arrive under their own name. The four named papers, big canvas sizes, framing in-house and a free-form order route (integration, file transfer or email) suit shops of different sizes, and the test production lets a new seller check the whole customer experience first.
It suits less a seller who wants to compare published unit prices, since every price is quoted, or anyone who needs products beyond wall art, framing and mirrors.
