What Le Cartel Français is

Le Cartel Français is a French poster brand with its own print workshop in Amiens, in the north of France. It sells its own posters to consumers through its web shop, and it runs a white-label dropshipping service for brands and resellers who want to sell posters they designed without printing or shipping anything themselves. Its professional page opens with a plain description: "Le Cartel Français est un fournisseur en dropshipping d'affiches et poster en marque blanche" (Le Cartel Français is a white-label poster dropshipping supplier). The offer is aimed at sellers building a home decor or art brand, and at shops that want to add posters to an existing catalog.

The dropshipping service is narrow and clearly priced: two poster formats, a monthly or annual subscription, and a small commission on sales. For a seller who only needs well made posters printed in France, that simplicity is the point.

How the dropshipping service works

The company describes poster dropshipping as a system with three players: the printer, the brand and the end customer. The customer buys a poster on the brand's site, and the printer makes it and ships it straight to the customer, who receives a poster ready to frame. Le Cartel Français takes the printer's role and says it handles the whole production side, including layout, ink management, packaging and shipping. The brand, or reseller, only has to create new designs and sell them.

In practice the seller builds an online shop, creates the posters and offers them to customers. When an order arrives, the seller passes it on to Le Cartel Français, whose team prints the poster and ships it to the customer, "et tout cela en marque blanche" (all under white label). The page says the team sets up a process for collecting the seller's orders. No store integration or app is named, so orders reach the workshop through that agreed process rather than through a plug-in.

Onboarding starts with the files. The team first reviews the seller's file formats, which the page names as PSD, PDF or SVG. Once the partnership is signed and sales come in, the team prints from those files on demand. The company lists six steps:

  • Contact the team.
  • Create an online shop if you do not have one yet.
  • Send over your designs.
  • Sell your first posters and pass the orders on.
  • The workshop prints the posters.
  • Le Cartel Français ships the orders in your name.

Setup is quick according to the page: "L'offre de dropshipping est prête à être mise en place en seulement quelques jours" (the dropshipping offer is ready to set up in just a few days). The seller prepares the designs, syncs them to a shared folder, and the workshop is ready for the first shipments.

Pricing and what the subscription includes

Le Cartel Français publishes its dropshipping prices, which is uncommon for a small printer. There are two plans:

  • Monthly subscription: 19€ excluding VAT per month.
  • Annual subscription: 15€ excluding VAT per month.

Both plans include order processing within 3 to 4 days, printing of the poster in the 30x40cm or 50x60cm format, packaging and the shipping label, a dedicated contact person, a dedicated Dropbox, forwarding of tracking numbers and advice and support. The annual plan adds an image bank for showcasing the seller's posters.

On top of the subscription the company takes a commission on each sale. The page describes it as small, "Le Cartel Français prend une faible commission", and says the seller is completely free to set the selling price. It also says "nous proposons une offre unique à un tarif unique" (we offer a single offer at a single rate), so the seller can set prices independently of the production cost. The commission rate itself is not printed on the page. The page adds that print on demand gives access to low-priced products "sans minimum de commande" (with no minimum order).

Production, paper and shipping

Production stays in-house. The page says every product in the dropshipping offer is stored and made in the company's own workshop and warehouse, with no other intermediary in production or stock management, which it says lowers the unit cost of the seller's posters. The home page places that workshop in Amiens.

On materials, the home page says the company works with Clairefontaine to get a French-made 250 g paper with a matte lamination. The professional page states that "100% des produits imprimés par Le Cartel Français sont originaires de France" (100% of the products printed by Le Cartel Français come from France), from trees turned into paper to the plant-based inks used in printing, all printed in its workshop in the Hauts-de-France region. For a brand that wants to sell posters as made in France, those are claims the printer makes itself.

For delivery, the page says sellers can offer low-cost shipping across Europe with Colissimo, Mondial Relay and UPS. Tracking numbers are passed back to the seller as part of the subscription.

The consumer shop behind it

The same company runs a large consumer poster catalog, which shows the kind of product a dropshipping seller receives. Themes include minimalist, vintage, black and white, typography, film and series, French culture, world cities, space, children's posters and personalized designs, along with frames. Most posters on the home page start at 9,95€ including VAT, and a personalized couple poster starts at 14,95€. For retail buyers the shop advertises free delivery with no minimum purchase, 14 days to change your mind and customer service within 24 hours. The home page reports an average customer rating of 4.8 out of 5 and says its reviews are collected by e-confiance, an outside review service, while the footer shows 4.7 out of 5.0.

Who it suits

Le Cartel Français suits illustrators, designers and small decor brands who want to sell their own posters under their own name, with printing in France and a fixed, published monthly fee. The annual plan at 15€ a month makes sense for a seller who expects steady orders, and the monthly plan lets a newcomer try the service for 19€ a month. Sellers who care about the French origin of the paper and inks get a supplier that states it outright, and shops already selling decor can add posters without holding stock.

It is a narrower fit for sellers who need many poster sizes, other products such as apparel or mugs, or automatic order import from a store platform, since the offer covers two formats and orders are handed over through an agreed process. The per-sale commission is only described as small, so the full per-order cost is best confirmed during the first contact.
