What Papello is
Papello is a UK print-on-demand platform that prints in its own facility and ships worldwide. It calls itself "The print on demand platform for artists, sellers, and creators" and advertises "700+ products": art prints and posters, framed prints, metallic foil prints, custom mugs, notebooks and stationery, custom wrapping paper, fine art postcards and greetings cards. Sellers connect a store and Papello handles printing, packaging and worldwide shipping, or they order one piece at a time for themselves.
Wall art is the company's focus. Its home page says Papello "specialises in high-quality art prints, framed posters, and metallic foil prints," the products "that matter most to artists, illustrators, and print-on-demand sellers on Etsy and Shopify."
What a seller gets
The wall art range is described in detail:
- Art prints and posters in square, A-series and US sizes, printed on premium archival paper. Custom poster printing runs "from A5 to A0 and beyond."
- Framed and mounted prints, ready to hang, in a range of frame colors and mount styles.
- Metallic foil prints in gold, silver and rose gold on high-quality paper.
- Giclée fine art prints on fine art paper or cotton rag, which the company pitches at artists selling high-end work.
Beyond wall art, the catalog covers mugs, wrapping paper, greetings cards, notebooks and journals, spiral and softback notebooks and weekly desk planners. A Papello blog post on selling journals describes 2 notebook formats: an A5 softcover with 80 lined pages and a full wraparound color cover, and an A5 spiral notebook with 160 pages (lined, plain, graph or bullet) and a custom front and back cover.
The company lays out the workflow in 4 steps. The seller picks a product, uploads artwork and previews it in the mockup generator, then connects a store or orders direct: "Sync with Etsy, Shopify, or WooCommerce for automatic fulfilment, or place a one-off order with no minimum quantity." Papello then prints in-house, packs in white-label packaging and ships worldwide with tracking.
There is no minimum. The home page says "Order one unit or one thousand" and "Every product is printed to order. No stock, no risk." Signing up is free, and the home page closes with "No setup fees. No minimums. Worldwide shipping." A comparison page on Papello's site lists its subscription fees as "Free forever."
Integrations and the API
Papello's integration list names Etsy, eBay, Shopify, WooCommerce, Squarespace and Wix, plus its own API. The home page says "Connect Etsy, Shopify, WooCommerce and more. Orders fulfil automatically," and has a dedicated page on connecting an Etsy shop so that "we handle print on demand fulfilment automatically."
The API page is thorough. It describes a "Full REST API for developers" with endpoints for orders (single and multiple print areas), quotes that "Calculate pricing, tax, shipping, and duties before placing orders," validation of SKUs and print areas, and updates to recipient details and shipping methods on pending orders. Webhooks send real-time notifications, including an "order.shipped" event with tracking and carrier details. Access uses TEST and LIVE API keys with Bearer token authentication over HTTPS, managed in the Papello Dashboard, and a Postman collection is provided for testing. The page says "Send your first order in minutes with our clear, well-documented REST API," and adds that the print API "is already used by many International clients to outsource their printing," with a focus on "fast, low cost delivery around the world."
Seller tools
Papello bundles free tools for listing products. The home page lists a mockup generator, a listing creator, a CSV importer for bulk uploads, simple ordering, personalized orders and developer docs, summed up as "Generate mockups, write listings, and bulk import products. All free." The comparison page adds free access to MockupKit premium mockups, which it values at "£19/month."
Personalization gets its own pitch: the home page says personalized products "sell for 20–30% more. Customers add names, photos, and messages, and you keep the margin."
The journal blog post walks through the product editor. Papello provides downloadable templates for Photoshop, Illustrator or Canva, or the design can be built "on the fly" in the editor, with a reminder to fill the canvas allowing for bleed.
Fulfillment, shipping and packaging
Production is in-house. The company states "We print everything ourselves in our UK facility," and the home page describes "In-house UK fulfilment. Printed and dispatched from our own facility."
On speed, the home page promises "Dispatched in 24–48 hours" and says most orders ship within one to two business days. Papello's comparison page claims it "ships 95% of orders within 1-2 days from our UK facility." For UK buyers, domestic fulfillment means "no import delays or extra charges," and every order includes a VAT invoice by email. For US orders, the site says "we automatically add DPPD (Duties Prepaid) to all orders, which means your customers won't be charged duties and items are released from customs faster," while noting that local sales taxes may still apply.
Packaging carries the seller's brand, not Papello's: "Ships in your branding. Your customers never see Papello." The home page describes it as "Plastic-free, white-label packaging," recyclable and carrying the seller's business name.
Samples and support
Papello offers a free sample pack of its paper stocks where the buyer pays only postage. It includes poster and print paper samples, metallic foil samples, stationery paper, and canvas and wrapping paper samples. For finished products, the site offers 50% off a first sample order. Support resources include a knowledge base, API documentation, a production status page and a contact page, and the company runs an affiliate program and a membership called Papello Plus.
Who it suits
Papello suits artists, illustrators and Etsy or Shopify sellers whose products are prints, framed posters, foil prints and stationery, especially with customers in the UK, where dispatch is fast and VAT invoices come with every order. The free tools, free sign-up and absence of minimums make it easy for a beginner to start, and the REST API with webhooks gives developers and larger brands a clean way to automate. Personalization support helps sellers who want to charge more for names and photos.
It fits less well for apparel sellers, since the catalog centers on paper goods and mugs. Everything ships from the UK, so a seller with most customers far from the UK should weigh the delivery time.
