What theprintspace Is
theprintspace is a professional fine art and photographic print lab that also runs a print-on-demand dropshipping service for artists and photographers. It prints giclée fine art prints and C-type photographic prints, makes frames and mounts by hand, and ships finished work to an artist's buyers under the artist's brand. The homepage says the company owns its fine art production centers in the USA, UK and Germany, and names the facilities as London, Düsseldorf and Brooklyn. The company says it originated in the UK and claims "Over 30,000 artists and pro photographers" as customers, from art institutions and galleries to hobbyists and art students. Its dropship page describes "two decades as the leading fine art printers," and the business also runs a marketing agency for artists.
What a Seller Gets
Print types and papers. The core choice is between giclée and C-type. The site says giclée prints are loved by visual artists for their handmade feel and textured papers, and describes C-type prints as having "a deep rich tonal range that you can only achieve with a genuine professional photo print." The dropship offer covers "11 professional fine art & photo papers": 7 fine art giclée papers aimed at "illustrators, fine artists, painters, graphic designers as well as many photographers," and 4 professional C-type photo papers for photographic artists. Named papers include Hahnemühle German Etching ("a slightly warm base tone and a strong mottled texture"), a Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper with a super matte finish, a baryta paper for "whiter whites and deeper blacks," a textured cotton paper, a bamboo paper made from "90% Bamboo fibers and 10% cotton" that the company calls "our most sustainable option," Fuji Crystal Archive in a semi-matt finish, and Fuji Pearl with "a rich metallic base." The lab says it can print "any size you require."
Frames. For dropshipping there are "9 pre-made solid wood & glass frame options." The products page describes "black, white or oak FSC-certified wood frames" with glass, "printed border and mat options," and says the artwork is fitted in the frame "so it is ready to be hung on your customer's wall." Window mounts are custom cut. Frames and mounts are "produced by hand."
Mounting, acrylic and metal. The mounting page lists aluminum, dibond ("A lightweight composite of aluminum and PVC"), PVC sintra in black or white, gatorfoam, a 2mm gallery board that is "our most affordable backing option," MDF with black or white painted edges, and acrylic prints, where "clear Perspex is mounted over the top for a very contemporary look." Each comes with its own wall fixings: battens, subframes, Velcro or nail fixings.
Authentication. Sellers can "Include a certificate of authenticity and a digital signature printed on the artwork," and the site supports limited edition print runs, which matters for artists selling numbered editions.
Branding. Deliveries are fully white label, shipped "as if you sent them yourself," and the API page says sellers can add their branding "to the postage label and optional limited edition certificate."
How Orders Flow
Sellers open a free account, store high-resolution files on the company's platform and connect a store. The site names Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce, Squarespace, Big Cartel and Wix, and has a TikTok page for selling prints "through your TikTok store." Custom sites and apps can use the REST API, which "gives you the complete feature set of our art sales fulfillment service." The API page lists what it does: create and edit orders, "Choose postal and courier shipping services," receive "dispatch notifications and tracking codes via webhooks," and "We debit you for the production costs during order fulfillment." A 7-step setup guide covers connecting a store through the company's creativehub platform.
The dropship page sums up the flow: "As soon as your art buyer pays we're on it, producing the print, frame or acrylic reverse artwork," and "When you sell a print, we fulfill the order and ship it within 2-5 working days."
Shipping, Speed and Prices
Orders are routed by destination. The company has fulfillment in the UK, USA and Germany, and says print-only or drop shipped framed orders going to customers in the UK, USA or EU "will not face additional import charges," because it routes each order automatically by shipping destination. The delivery page adds a caveat: "Customs duties may apply to bespoke hand made frames or bespoke mounting when being delivered into the USA or EU."
The delivery page for US orders gives "Time to dispatch 1-2 business days," then either DHL express courier with "Delivery in 2-3 business days from time of dispatch" or UPS Ground with "Delivery in 4-10 business days," all as "average times, actual may vary." Framed prints take up to 10 working days to ship and mounted prints 5. The homepage adds that "Same and next day services" are available. Prints are wrapped in recyclable tissue and sent in a "100% sustainably sourced recyclable cardboard envelope or tube," and framed work is protected with "Strong recyclable archival foam made from recycled materials."
Prices are public. The US prices page shows a table of example sizes and papers, with the smallest example starting at $5.25 and larger prints running into the hundreds of dollars. A paper sample pack of 11 A4 prints costs £14.99 on the UK site and $18 on the US site, and 4" x 30" test strips help with color matching. The company's promise is "Highest quality, lowest prices. Guaranteed."
Guarantees and Support
The company guarantees results if the seller follows its color management process: the homepage promises the print will be perfect, and "Any issues? We resend your order." For dropship orders, "We replace lost or damaged orders immediately, at zero cost." Print profiles are available to download for soft proofing.
Support runs "7 day-a-week," with live chat on the site, email at info@theprintspace.co.uk and a London phone line, +44 (0) 207 739 1060. Juxtapoz Magazine's editor-in-chief is quoted on the API page saying the service "allowed us to grow sales, save time, and provide an A1 service to our readers."
What the Company Says About Sustainability
theprintspace makes environmental claims in its own words. The homepage says prints, frames and deliveries fulfilled through it are "100% carbon neutral," and that "we actively measure, reduce, and offset all our emissions." The US site says it donates "to wind farm projects in the developing world to offset all unavoidable carbon emissions from crafting & delivering your prints," and the menu lists World Land Trust support. Frames are described as FSC-certified.
Who It Suits
theprintspace suits photographers, illustrators and fine artists who sell prints of their own work and care about paper, color and framing. The own-lab production in London, Düsseldorf and Brooklyn, tariff-free routing within the UK, EU and US, certificates of authenticity and white-label delivery fit artists selling editions to collectors. Galleries, magazines and developers can use the REST API. The marketing agency offers extra help for artists who want to grow sales.
It suits less well a merch seller looking for apparel or homeware, since the range is prints, frames, mounts and acrylics. For an artist whose product is a museum-grade print, the paper range, the handmade framing and the published prices are the reasons to look.
