AOP+

AOP+ is a print-on-demand company based in London that prints apparel, all-over-print and cut-and-sew products, home goods and accessories for online sellers and ships them to their customers under the seller's brand. Its home page says "We make, print and ship from our London, UK facility", and the footer reads "Made with love in London, USA and EU". The company lists two addresses, AOP+ UK in London and AOP TECH LLC in Newark, Delaware. It is free to start, has no order minimums, and connects to Shopify, Etsy and BigCommerce.

What a seller gets

Sellers connect their store and AOP+ handles production. The BigCommerce page spells out the four steps: connect your BigCommerce store with AOP+ in a few clicks, upload your product artwork and publish, let customers place orders, and "Sit back & relax!" because whenever a customer buys, AOP+ automatically gets the details and fulfills and ships the order on the seller's behalf. The home page describes the same flow from the factory side: order details are sent to the team automatically, the team checks everything looks right and flags any issues, the production team in London makes the product, and it is packed and shipped directly to the customer.

The integrations named on the site are Shopify, Etsy and BigCommerce, each with its own app, and the BigCommerce page says "AOP+ was born to service BigCommerce sellers!" The home page promise of "12+ more integrations coming in 2022" is dated.

Branding is part of the model. The home page says products are "shipped direct to your customer with YOUR branding (never ours!)", and it lists branding options for products and packaging. The site also offers stock designs for sellers who want a starting point, product mockups, a help center, a product catalog and a POD Academy.

The pricing model is simple: pay only for what you sell, no minimum requirements, no upfront costs and, in the BigCommerce page's words, transparent pricing. Prices can be displayed in dollars, pounds or euros.

Catalog and starting prices

The catalog count differs by page: the hero section says 140+ products, the product section says "Over 120+ Premium, Unique Products For You To Sell", and the BigCommerce page says 120+. Categories are men's, women's, unisex, and kids and youth clothing, classic, premium and organic apparel, cut and sew, activewear, home and living, wall decor, accessories, pets and phone cases.

The BigCommerce page also shows starting prices by group for t-shirts and tops, fashion tops, canvases and cut and sew products, with cut and sew the most expensive group.

Print methods and production times

The product names show the methods in use: DTG for garments, sublimation for all-over-print tees, tanks and panels, and cut and sew for full-coverage pieces. The company's July 2020 blog post, written as its cut-and-sew department reopened after lockdown, says its cut-and-sew range is "all Made in London" and gives production windows at the time: 4-6 business days for cut-and-sew cushion covers, giant face cushions and custom shape cushions, and 6-8 business days for throw, sherpa and hooded blankets and leggings. The same post said AOP+ was donating to the NHS, with £12,840.00 raised by then, and that cut-and-sew masks shipped in about 2 to 4 business days. Those figures are from 2020, so a seller should check the current production times in the app.

Shipping news appears on the blog too. A September 2023 post announced an adjustment to shipping prices for the USA from the 2nd of October 2023, an August 2022 post covered the Royal Mail strikes, and a 2019 post titled "New Mug Shipping Costs, Made in USA!" dealt with the cost of sending mugs from the UK to the US. The home page marks the shipping origin on some product cards, such as the baby bodysuit, as the United Kingdom.

Sustainability and support

Under "Organic & Sustainable" the home page lists "Organic clothing options & vegan friendly printing", and the BigCommerce page calls the service "Good for the planet". The company says it works to reduce its environmental impact and to support and employ people from all backgrounds. Support is promised around the clock: "We have 24/7 kick ass customer support." The BigCommerce page adds a quality guarantee, saying customers "will be impressed with the quality of our prints", and the home page claims "Unmatched quality control before anything ships out the door".

The home page says over 10,000 print-on-demand sellers trust AOP+, and it links reviews on the Shopify App Store, Product Hunt, Trustpilot and Google. Its news posts mention acceptance into Newchip's global Series A accelerator in December 2021 and an invitation to the Web Summit ALPHA startup program in 2022.

Who it suits

AOP+ suits a seller on Shopify, Etsy or BigCommerce who wants UK-made print-on-demand apparel and home goods, with published starting prices, organic options and the seller's own branding on the parcel. Its cut-and-sew and sublimation lines make it a natural pick for all-over-print designs, and the "Who is it for?" list on its home page runs from online entrepreneurs, designers and people working from home to influencers, student side hustles, charities and non-profits, businesses selling merch and retail brands testing new designs. Some of the public pages are dated, so the app is the place to confirm current production times and the product count.
