Printify
Tap a star to rate
Printify is a print-on-demand platform that connects sellers to a network of independent print providers, who produce, pack and ship each order. It does not print anything itself: its own blog lists "No in-house printing. We partner with vetted Print Providers" among its cons. The pricing page describes a marketplace of "2,000+ products, 90+ Print Providers, and no upfront costs." According to the About page, James Berdigans created Printify in 2015 to connect people like himself with printing companies, after an earlier business left him holding inventory he could not sell. The platform is built for anyone selling through their own store or a marketplace, from side projects to enterprise accounts.
What a seller gets
The provider network
The print-on-demand page describes "More than 140 printing facilities in the US, CA, EU, UK, AU, and China." The pricing page counts "90+ Print providers" and "140+ Print facilities or fulfillment centers", and the homepage shows 141 facilities delivering to 209 countries and territories. Each product in the catalog can be made by several providers, and each product page "includes details about the Print Provider, base price, and production time", so a seller can pick on cost, location or quality. Printify says it vets providers for "Product defects", "Cancellation rates" and "Print quality", and that "Every Print Provider is vetted and ranked on print quality, speed, and shipping." Orders can also be assigned automatically: the About page describes "an Order Routing feature that selects the Print Provider closest to your customers."
Local pages spell out regional coverage. The UK page speaks of a network of UK-based fulfillment centers, and the Australia page of "local Print Providers in Australia", with "a shipping discount for bulk orders".
Catalog and tools
The product count depends on the page: the homepage, pricing page and regional pages say 2,000+, while the About and How It Works pages say "over 1,300 top-quality products, including apparel, kitchenware, home decor, pet products, and more." The homepage carousel names T-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, hoodies, kids clothing, stickers, phone cases, posters, candles and bags, and the menu adds custom embroidery, socks, all-over-print hoodies and backpacks.
Design happens in the free Product Creator; the blog mentions "the AI Image Generator, ready-made graphics, fonts, and premium assets", and the menu lists a Mockup Generator. A Personalization feature lets buyers add names or messages; on TikTok Shop, the company says, buyers do this "right in the TikTok app before purchasing."
How orders flow
The integration list covers Etsy, Shopify, TikTok Shop, Amazon, eBay, PrestaShop, BigCommerce, Wix, WooCommerce, Squarespace and Shutterstock, plus the Printify API. Sellers with no store can open a Printify Pop-Up Store, "a free, branded storefront in minutes". Two conditions are stated: the Amazon page marks the integration "Subscription fee: Yes", and "Printify's TikTok Shop integration is currently only available to US-based TikTok creators." Orders can also be created manually or imported. Beyond single orders, the Services menu offers bulk orders and help with transferring an existing catalog to Printify, and the Features menu lists Printify Choice and a "Merch for enterprise" program for larger brands.
Pricing
Printify is free to use and "earns a margin on the product fulfillment price you pay when a customer orders. There are no platform fees, listing fees, or hidden charges." Its FAQ gives a worked example: "a tee with an $8.77 fulfillment cost sold at $19.99 earns over $11 per sale." The homepage profit calculator shows a T-shirt at a "Fulfillment cost*: $9.64", and the footnote warns that this cost "doesn't include shipping fees, taxes, and other possible storefront expenses." There are no production minimums; the Australia page puts it as "Order one custom product or a thousand".
There are three plans:
- Free, "$0/month", with 5 stores per account and unlimited designs.
- Premium, "From $39/month" or "from $24.99/month billed yearly (save 36%)", with 10 stores, "Up to 33% discount on new products", "Up to 20% discount on all products", discounts on custom branding features, AI Mockups, order management with Printify Connect, and mentorship through Sellers Club PRO. One seller quoted on the Amazon page puts the Premium spend at "$20 a month" against savings of "over $200 a month".
- Enterprise, "Custom pricing", with unlimited stores, a custom API integration, a dedicated account manager and branded customer support.
Printify charges "in USD, EUR, CAD, GBP, and AUD", and Premium is "non-refundable" if not canceled before renewal. All plans include "24/7 merchant support".
Speed, samples and quality promises
The About page claims "90% of our orders are produced and shipped within two business days." On delivery, the FAQ says "For most printing partners, local deliveries take 2-3 business days, while international shipping usually takes 10-30 days," and adds that "Print providers may use different shipping carriers." The menu lists an Express Delivery option, and a dedicated TikTok section stocks bestsellers that the company says it ships "super fast to meet TikTok Shop requirements."
Samples are encouraged: the FAQ advises ordering one before listing a product and says "Just pay the base price and shipping for a sample to see for yourself." If something goes wrong in production, "Merchant Protection covers a free reprint or refund within 30 days." The UK page mentions "packaging inserts to personalize your brand."
Scale and community
The company reports "10M+ Merchants", "60M+ Products delivered" and a 4.8 rating on its homepage. It runs a seller community of 34k, a YouTube channel with 100k subscribers, the Amplified events and a podcast. The About page lists backers including Index Ventures, the H&M Group's venture arm and Virgin Group, and a leadership team headed by CEO Alex Saltonstall.
Who it suits
Printify fits a seller who wants choice: many products, several providers per product, and the freedom to trade base cost against location or speed. It suits multi-channel sellers, with integrations across marketplaces and store builders, and growing shops for whom the Premium discount outweighs its fee. The Pop-Up Store gives a beginner a way to start before building a store.
The trade-off is the one the company names itself. Because production is spread across independent providers, quality and shipping times vary by provider and region, so ordering samples from the provider you plan to use is the sensible first step.
