DTGUK is a direct-to-garment printing company in Milton Keynes, England, that runs a print-on-demand platform for online sellers alongside a trade printing service. Its footer describes it as "a UK-based company with over 25 years of experience in the print industry" offering "print on demand and bulk Printing." The POD platform at print.dtguk.com calls itself "The home of Print on demand in the UK," and says the company prints "from our one location in Milton Keynes, UK." Sellers connect a store, list DTGUK products with their designs, and DTGUK prints, packs and ships each order in the seller's name, with no setup fees and no minimum order.
What a seller gets
The platform explains the flow in four steps. The seller connects their store or marketplace to DTGUK, creates products and sets margins. When a customer orders, "we charge you for the print and shipping, you pocket the profit." DTGUK prints only once the order arrives and provides full tracking. The customer then receives the order "Full white labelled" with the seller's branding. The home page adds that the POD system "connects to your store so that your orders flow directly into production," and the POD platform says tracking is sent back through the seller's store so customers stay informed.
The catalog covers T-shirts, hoodies, sweaters and sweatshirts, children's clothing including babygrows, bags, cushions and mugs. The home page gives two counts in different blocks, "over 400 POD products" and "over 250 POD products," each with "thousands of other products" available beyond the POD range, and the POD platform says "We have hundreds of customisable products with more added each month." The About page says the company can print "on pretty much any material" with its Kornit Hexa printers, and that it can source clothing through "our long established network of suppliers" and print in house.
Beyond pure print on demand, DTGUK stores ready-made products. The services page says sellers who want to mix POD and pre-made items can keep stock in its warehouse and have it shipped "alongside our DTG printed garments," and the POD platform lists this as "3PL Fulfillement." The navigation also includes a print-on-demand migration service for sellers moving from another supplier.
Published prices
The POD platform shows per-item prices, excluding VAT, for its best sellers, each for a product printed on demand:
- Gildan Softstyle unisex T-shirt (GD01), DTG, £7.77+VAT, described as "one of the cheapest options offering a great value T-shirt"
- Stanley/Stella Creator T-shirt, 100% organic cotton, DTG, £9.80+VAT
- AWDis College Hoodie (JH001), DTG, £14.21+VAT
- Earth Positive Women's T-shirt (Continental EP02), 100% organic cotton, DTG, £8.92+VAT
- Earth Positive Men's/Unisex T-shirt (EP100), DTG, £9.16+VAT
- Ceramic mug, sublimation printed with a full wraparound print and "delivered in smash-proof boxes," £6.10+VAT
The mug line shows the one non-DTG method on the pages: mugs are printed by sublimation. The platform also has separate "UK Prices," "Worldwide Shipping" and "Postage Prices" sections for shipping costs.
Print technology
The About page makes color the selling point: "Unlike many DTG printers our Kornit Hexa printers utilises 6 colour heads, we can use Red and Green inks to print with much more vibrancy." It also says: "Our neoPigment inks are Vegan, 100% toxic free and are safe for babies and infants under the Oeko-Tex safety standards." Those are the company's own claims about its inks. The services page adds a production history: "Since we started counting in 2016 we've printed over 500,000 T-Shirts and many thousands more before that." The About page says DTGUK fulfils "thousands of orders each week from our DTG facility in the UK" and describes the company as "the first UK company to invest in large scale Direct to Garment printing," which is its own claim.
Integrations and ordering
The navigation lists four integration routes: Shopify, WooCommerce, CSV and REST API integration. The About page says: "With our custom-made ordering system, we can integrate with Shopify and Woocommerce for a simple and stress-free ordering process." CSV upload and the REST API cover stores and systems outside those two platforms. A customer quote on the home page, from Creg, notes that DTGUK has supplied his "Ebay and Amazon business for over 5 years, the self service system means I can submit orders 24 hours a day."
Turnaround and shipping
The POD platform says: "On average we ship orders in less than 3 working days, stock items ship faster." Everything is printed and shipped "from our UK Fulfillment centre, for the fastest delivery to UK customers." For the UK there is "Fast UK Shipping (Next day courier available)," and abroad the platform lists "Worldwide shipping to 192 countries" with "Economy and premium shipping options." A home page testimonial from A Bishop says "Shipping worldwide with DTGUK has really boosted our sales."
Branding options
The branding page says: "As standard all our orders are shipped white label with your own customisable packing slip." On top of that it offers paid extras with published prices:
- Swing tags at 30p per garment, full color, single or double sided, with minimum orders of around 50 tags that can be sent in "for less than £20"
- Plastisol neck labels at £1 per garment, with a £150+VAT setup charge to make the labels (one per garment size) and order the first stock; these suit hoodies and lined garments
- DTG neck labels printed on demand with no setup cost, marked "Coming Soon" and not suitable for fleece-lined garments
- Custom packaging, sticker inserts and custom A4 packing slips with the seller's logo and service text
The POD platform sums this up as "From packing slips to neck labels you have full control of the branding of your orders."
Trade printing
The second business line is trade DTG printing for "screen printers or established brands looking to print Small to Medium sized print runs." The About page says it uses "a fixed price model" where the number of colors or designs does not change the price, that there are "no minimums," and that "the more you buy the cheaper your item." The services page says trade orders are discounted compared with POD, which suits a seller who wants to hold some stock or sell in person.
Support
The site lists phone support and email, with hours of Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, and a contact form. A services page testimonial reads: "I've worked with DTGUK for 5 years and their expertise during peak periods has been a life saver for my business."
Who it suits
DTGUK fits sellers whose customers are mostly in the UK and who want a UK DTG printer with published per-item prices, no minimums and next-day courier as an option, with worldwide shipping available for the rest. The Shopify, WooCommerce, CSV and API routes cover most store setups, and the swing tags and neck labels let a clothing brand look like more than a blank with a print. Brands that also hold stock can combine POD with warehousing and trade runs at one supplier.
