Local Print Department

Local Print Department is a textile printing company in Schweinfurt, Germany, that prints and embroiders apparel and runs print-on-demand fulfillment for brands, creators, clubs and companies. Its English print-on-demand page sums up the offer as "16×18″ DTG printing, premium blanks and direct fulfillment," with "no minimum order, produced on demand in Germany." Production and fulfillment both happen on site: the homepage lists "Schweinfurt Produktion & Fulfillment vor Ort" (production and fulfillment on site). The site runs in German and English.
Four ways in
The homepage frames the business as "4 Wege · 1 Druckpartner" (four routes, one print partner). The first is company, team and club clothing: workwear, teamwear and merch, printed or embroidered, on quote. The second is "Eigene Marke starten" (start your own brand), meaning print-on-demand fulfillment and Shop-in-Shop "ganz ohne Lager" (with no stock at all). The third is an online designer where customers design a shirt or hoodie directly in the browser. The fourth is the company's own shop of streetwear from local brands and ready-made designs.
That mix matters for a seller. Local Print Department is not only a POD platform; it is a local print shop that also takes single private orders, club jerseys and bulk runs. The print-on-demand service sits alongside that work in the same Schweinfurt workshop.
Print methods
The homepage claims "6+ Druckverfahren" (six or more print methods) and describes five of them. Direct to Garment (DTG) is "Fotorealistischer Digitaldruck direkt aufs Textil" (photorealistic digital print directly on the textile), ideal for color-heavy designs "schon ab 1 Stück" (from a single piece). Direct to Film (DTF) is a flexible transfer print for almost any material, with strong colors even on difficult textiles. Screen printing and plastisol transfer give "Brillante, langlebige Farben" (brilliant, long-lasting colors) and are recommended for larger runs. Embroidery is offered for logos on polos, caps, jackets and workwear. Sublimation produces dyed-through, wash-resistant prints on polyester, "perfekt für Allover & Sportswear." A sixth tile, "… und viele mehr" (and many more), promises advice on the right method for each project. The menu adds that this advice is free: "Wir empfehlen dir kostenlos das passende Verfahren für dein Projekt."
The print-on-demand service itself runs on DTG. The German FAQ says orders are printed "mit hochwertigem DTG-Druck" (with high-quality DTG printing), and the English page says every order "is printed large-format with DTG only when needed."
The large-format streetwear angle
What sets the POD offer apart is print size and blank choice. The maximum print area is 16×18 inches, for "large front and back prints for a true oversized streetwear look." The page promises "Large-area DTG prints with rich colors and fine detail" and "true oversized streetwear instead of a small chest logo," and says its DTG delivers "rich colors, fine lines and a pleasantly soft feel."
The blanks are AS Colour, WATC and Studio-TC, "chosen for fit, fabric quality and look," which the company calls "blanks that feel like real brand product in fit, fabric and look, not like merch." It adds: "We print on premium blanks you'd also buy in a store," creating pieces that, in its words, "don't feel like merch but like a brand." The navigation also lists a Build Your Brand blank range. For a streetwear label, that combination of a full-front print area and retail-grade blanks is the reason to look here rather than at a generic POD catalog.
How an order flows
The English page lays out four steps. The seller connects a store and creates products, or starts with an inquiry. When a customer orders, "the job is automatically passed to us," with no manual work for the seller. Local Print Department prints on the chosen blank and checks every piece before shipping, then packs the order neutral or branded and ships it "straight to your customer, from Germany."
Store connections cover "Shopify, WooCommerce, Etsy and custom setups via API. Orders are passed automatically." For systems not on that list, "We also connect custom shops via API." The German FAQ adds that the company helps set up the connection on request.
Branding is available too. Asked whether it ships neutral or branded, the FAQ answers "Both. On request with label printing, hangtags and packaging design, so your brand impresses right from unboxing." The fulfillment line is simple: "You supply the design, we do the rest: print, label, pack, ship," and the page calls it fully automated.
Shop-in-Shop for sellers without a store
A seller with no online shop can still sell. The German FAQ describes a Shop-in-Shop: "eine eigene Unterkategorie in unserem Onlineshop" (a subcategory of its own in the company's online shop). The seller sends designs, Local Print Department builds a product page under the seller's name or logo, and when someone orders it handles printing, shipping and payment processing. The seller "bekommst regelmäßig eine Übersicht über Verkäufe und Einnahmen" (regularly receives an overview of sales and income).
The homepage shows how this looks in practice, with brand collections such as Flaiz Merch (18 products), Schweinfurt Merch (9), ENSŌ Club (6), Dope Oder Nope (11), Unique Studios (9) and Zappel Imbiss (3).
Minimums and pricing
There is no minimum order. The homepage says "Ab 1 Stück" (from one piece) and "Keine Mindestbestellmenge" (no minimum order quantity), and the English FAQ says "We produce from 1 piece," from a single drop to an ongoing collection. The inquiry form reads "Egal ob 1 Stück oder 1.000" (whether one piece or 1,000), and the company answers with a matching offer.
The site publishes no price list or base costs; pricing comes through an inquiry. The form lets a customer pick company, team and club clothing, own brand or print on demand, single piece or private, promotional products, or other, and the company says it replies "i. d. R. innerhalb von 24 Stunden" (usually within 24 hours).
Sustainability, in the company's words
The homepage states "GOTS Zertifizierte Farben & Textilien" (GOTS certified inks and textiles), and the three-step process says it prints "mit GOTS-zertifizierten Farben und geprüfter Qualität" (with GOTS-certified inks and checked quality). The English page adds that products are "Produced only when ordered, with water-based inks locally in Germany," with no overproduction and no storage costs. These are the company's own claims.
Location and contact
Local Print Department is at Hauptstraße 31, 97424 Schweinfurt, Germany, reachable at +49 9721 2905747 and info@localprintdepartment.de. Orders ship from Germany.
Who it suits
Local Print Department suits streetwear brands and creators who want oversized front and back prints on AS Colour, WATC or Studio-TC blanks, sold through Shopify, WooCommerce, Etsy or a custom shop, with branded packing and a German production base. Artists and small labels without a store can use the Shop-in-Shop and let the company take payment and ship. Clubs, companies and teams get the same printer for embroidered polos, workwear and jerseys, with free advice on the method.
The caveats are that there are no published prices, so every project starts with an inquiry, and the POD service is DTG on a focused set of apparel blanks rather than a broad catalog of homeware and accessories.
