Print Livros

Tap a star to rate

Print Livros is a Brazilian printer and publisher ("Gráfica & Editora") that prints books on demand from a single copy and ships them anywhere in Brazil. Its home page is an online calculator: you pick the book type, quantity, size, cover and interior, add optional editorial services, upload your PDFs and pay, all on one page. It serves independent authors, publishers and companies, and promises "Qualidade profissional, atendimento especializado e entrega para todo o Brasil," professional quality, specialist service and delivery across Brazil.

What it prints

The calculator starts with three book types. Softcover ("Capa Brochura," flexible and light) carries the "Mais vendido" label, meaning most sold, and is used for novels, independent authors, biographies, workbooks, catalogs, manuals, technical books and print on demand. Hardcover ("Capa Dura," rigid and resistant) is the premium option for gift books, Bibles, collections, photo books, final-year theses (TCC) and catalogs. The saddle-stitched book ("Capa Grampo," stapled through the fold, the only finish offered for it) is the economical choice for magazines, catalogs, workbooks, leaflets, events, comics, manuals and promotional pieces. Three more product types sit alongside: workbooks for schools, courses and training, planners, and catalogs.

The services menu goes wider still: coloring books for children, educational activity books, personalized children's books, drawing books, teaching materials, course and training materials, manuals and guides, printed versions of e-books, magazines, booklets and promotional materials. The portfolio strip shows examples such as a 21x29 cm magazine, 20x20 cm children's books, 21x29,7 cm planners, 5x10 cm bookmarks and devotionals in 14x21 and 16x23 cm.

Sizes, covers and interiors

Four standard sizes are promoted: 14 × 21 cm, compact, for novels, poetry and books in general; 16 × 23 cm, a balance between readability and usable page area; 21 × 29,7 cm, large, for workbooks, catalogs and illustrated books; and 20 × 20 cm, square, for photo books, catalogs, portfolios and creative projects. Custom sizes can be entered by width and height, in portrait or landscape.

For the cover, the calculator offers Triplex 250g board, lamination, front-only 4x0 printing, flaps ("orelha") on softcovers, and white, black or custom endpapers on hardcovers. Special finishes are spot varnish, hot stamping and a dust jacket. The interior is printed on offset paper in 75g, 80g or 90g, in black and white (the cheaper option) or in color, and you set the number of black-and-white and color pages separately. Color pages use inkjet printing, which the site presents as the "Opção mais econômica para livros coloridos," the most economical option for color books, with a lower cost, suited to short runs and producing less waste. Before choosing it you must accept a notice that inkjet printing can show small variations in tone between pages and light scratches or marks on solid areas, photographs, gradients and continuous backgrounds, which the company says are inherent to the process and not manufacturing defects. PDFs with more than 15% average ink coverage in the interior get an adjusted price.

Quantity and price

"Pedido mínimo: 1 exemplar," the minimum order is 1 copy, and the calculator stresses that more copies cost less each ("Quanto mais livros, menor o valor!"). Its example table for the default configuration shows R$ 204,83 per copy for 1 book, R$ 66,49 each for 10, R$ 21,95 each for 50, R$ 20,79 each for 100 and R$ 17,32 each for 1000. Your own price depends on the specification you enter, and a quote can be downloaded as a PDF, sent by email or sent to WhatsApp, "gratuito e sem compromisso," free and without obligation. The calculator also advertises a promotion offering color books at the price of black and white.

Proofing and editorial services

The main optional check is the "boneco digital," a digital mock-up for R$ 350,00. A professional reviews the file, checks margins, bleed, spine and color standard, and sends you a PDF of the assembled book to approve before production, with adjustments and guidance if needed. It does not include proofreading or copy editing. If you decline it, the site warns that the file will be printed as sent, with only a general check by a professional.

The final step of the calculator lists editorial and finishing extras: ISBN registration, a catalog record ("Ficha Catalográfica"), individual shrink wrap at R$ 1,50 per copy or collective shrink wrap at R$ 1,00 for every 5 books, bookmarks, interior layout, cover design, proofreading at R$ 7,50 per page, a digital e-book version at a fixed R$ 550,00, and Portuguese to English translation at R$ 8,50 per page.

Ordering and payment

You create a free account as an individual (CPF) or a company (CNPJ), with a delivery address, and can log in with a password or a code sent by email. PDFs of the cover and interior can be uploaded during the order or later through the customer panel, where you can also replace files and see order history and receipts.

Payment runs through Asaas. The options are PIX, confirmed immediately; boleto, which clears in 1 to 3 days; credit card, with "Parcelamento até em 12x no cartão," installments of up to 12 payments; and a combined payment split between two methods. The checkout also describes a two-stage payment: 50% up front to confirm the order and start production, and the remaining 50% charged once production is finished, before the order ships. The terms note that production only begins after the first payment clears and that lead times vary with the complexity of the order, the quantity and file approval.

Support

Support is by WhatsApp and email, and the calculator lets you hand a quote to a salesperson on WhatsApp or ask questions before buying. The site advertises protected data, secure access and dedicated support ("Suporte dedicado").

Who it suits

Print Livros suits Brazilian independent authors, small publishers, schools and churches who want a book in hand from a single copy, with the specification and price visible before they commit. The ISBN, layout, cover design and proofreading add-ons let a first-time author complete a book in one place, and the digital mock-up guards against file errors. The progressive pricing rewards runs of 50 copies or more, and delivery covers the whole country. Color inkjet printing keeps color books affordable, as long as the buyer accepts the tonal variations the company discloses up front.
